Anyone can hand you an STL. What matters is whether it fits your printer, survives the first layer, and still goes together once it comes off the bed.
A printable file is not the same as a 3D model.
Most failed prints are decided before slicing, in choices the model maker either made or did not make. These are the ones that matter.
- Oriented so it prints with as little support as possible.
- Clearances tested, so parts that snap together actually snap together.
- Wall thickness that survives handling, not just slicing.
- Split into sections with alignment pins if it will not fit your bed.
- Print settings included: layer height, infill, supports, material.

For anything that attaches to an object you already own, measurements matter far more than photos. A caliper reading beats a picture every time — a part modelled from a photo alone is a guess.
